| Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter It will work, but will be very slow. The 4115 only has a 5.1 GPM pump, and the 2305 only 2.9 GPM is available to the implements.

| Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter thanks for the info Ken, do they make a kit to divert flow from the steering to the implements? or is 2.9 GPM all you get period. |

| Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter I just got a 13 ton log splitter. I have a JD 3520 that gives 8 gpm for implements. I cannot say it's very fast, but that depends entirely on engine rpms. I run it just above idle and barely have time to collect the split pieces while the ram is going up. Then I must put a new piece of wood under the splitter. So IMHO speed is not really important if you are working by yourself.

| Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter Just a suggestion. If you get a two directional splitter (A Splitfire) you can split
on both strokes. It'll make the most of low GPM flow.
I have one and have run it on a 3720 and have hookups on my 2305 although I've never run it on the 2305. At just above idle I cannot keep up with it splitting in both directions due to having to get rid of the wood. Split-Fire Sales Inc. :: Welcome :: Quality Built. High Performance. | Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter Look at this thread http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/m...-splitter.html. I have pics of my set up in there. I don't believe in running a 3pt splitter off the tractor hyd. Use the Prince PTO pump. I am 6sec cycle time and the tractor be idling with great speed on the ram. |

| Re: 2305 or similar sized and the northern tool 3pt 13 ton log splitter Splitting wood alone sucks.
I make sure I have a helper, otherwise its just not safe when splitting big pieces, because I split on a horizontal splitter, and the heavy pieces fall on your feet and legs, and then you have to pick them up again. I hate the vertical position, because my back can't handle that for very long at all. The lifting off the ground is horrible for anyones back.
