Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer who fabricates extensions for the 54" blade. I have plenty of power to push more snow, but by the time I get my plow angled to handle the depth, I don't accomplish too much. If I could add 8-12 inches on each side, it would reduce up my time considerably.

Also, if anyone has made their own, photos would be appreciated. I don't have the skill to make my own, but there is a local welding shop that may be able to help me.

Thanks...Keith

Pic or two of your setup would help with suggestions. Some are simple, and other possibilities not. :)

I added 6" of 3/4 " belt webbing (that what I call it) ,the only trouble with the extra width on each end is when you have the blade angled. The blade is then about 1 1/2" to2" at the most at highest lift position .

I like the extra width it does help ,and yes you do have the power. I have plowed 18" and deeper snow with this setup ....I just wonder why doesn't JD make a heavy duty unit for the Sub and Compact series tractors instead of using the setup for the garden tractors.

have fun and be safe!!

Thanks ET. Do you have a photo of the webbing?

Here is a couple of photos of my blade. I'd like to attach the additional width onto the blade...an option to remove would be a bonus.

Here is a couple I could find this evening . I know I have taken more If I remember I will try and take a few tomorrow. I changed the cutting edge with one from a 5ton truck snow plow. Its about 5-6 in high and guessing 1/2 thick.
At the time I put the new cutting edge on I only made it as big as the 54" blade.

have fun and be safe

Here are the ones I found I had taken nothing on the edge of rubber webbing.

It is used at coal mines or stone quarry on there conveyor . If you look at last photo and then next to the last photo double click that photo you can get some idea of the material and how it is made.
I think this will be my 3rd or 4th winter for this setup .Webbing was given to me to try ,and something to see if 6" on both sides was to much ,not enough or just plain forget and go back to the 54" with no wings.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much foir the photos. The flexibility of the material to bend to the shape of the blade will help, and I like the ability to put on/remove as needed. Now I have to find the material!

Thanks again.

No Problem ---I would think a stone or rock quarry ,mines or some industrial site would have this.
Mine is 3/4" I would think 1/2" would work at least give you some idea and if you put some metal on back side just for some strength. My welding is not the best but it is still holding.
You only need a piece 12-15"w x 18"-20" l

Good luck on finding some webbing !!!
