I have a 2305 with the independent (hydraulic lift), and have not been able to cut very high at all. I have searched the site for answers and do not have a problem with adjustment knob as it turns easily. In the pictures below I think my problem is the rockshaft cylinder. In the first picture (from another 2305 on the web) the rockshaft support has one hole. In the second picture (my 2305) there are two holes, and the hydraulic arm is in the second hole. This casues the whole arm to lift too high, and the rockshaft arm bumps the above platform. I have to the the P bolts almost all the way out, so they do not hit the stops, and then it lowers about 2 inches before it stops at the transport height. The thrid pciture is from a slightly different angle. I hope this is making sense. I tried to move the arm the first whole, but then the spring behind it is binding. Any ideas?

I don't know how old your 2305 is but my 2006 2305 with the Independent Lift Kit bellcrank has only one hole and is not angled. The online JD parts catalog only shows the bellcrank for the Mechanical Lift which has only one hole and is not angled either.

Unfortunately, they don't list the bellcrank for the Independent Lift Kit. The two are distinguished by an (A) for Independent Lift Kit part and (B) for Mechanical Lift Kit Part in the online catalog.

You definitely have the wrong bellcrank. Your JD dealer can get you the correct bellcrank. Then you will be able to adjust your mower deck height to specs.

Hope this helps.

My 08 2305 has what your 1st photo shows and the 05 or 06 had the same setup when I put ind lift on it.
I would check with dealer about this.

Thanks for the info. It is a 2009 model 2305. From what I can tell of the installation instructions, the rockshaft cylinder attachment that on my tractor has two holes is not part of the independent lift kit (or the mechanical lift kit). The installation manual for both the mechanical lift and the independent lift show a rcokshaft attachment arm with only one hole. This could be another reason why others have had problems with the height adjustment of the deck.
