Default 2320 PTO shaft for front Hitch- Snowblower

So i was one step closer to getting my new 47" Snowblower working the last snowstorm until i could NOT get the PTO drive shaft to slip onto the PTO under the tractor for the front hitch/drive. Any ideas? It almost seems as though there is a roller ball catch that needs to push in to engage on the pto but its not? could something be siezed? Am i not alligning something correctly?

There is a collar on the driveshaft that needs to be pulled back to disengage the lock-balls. After sliding it on the stub shaft, release the collar and slide back and forth till the balls engage in the groove.

Also try shifting the PTO lever to the rear PTO position which will put the mid-PTO in "neutral" allowing it to turn freely and easily aligning the splines. If the shaft is dry a little WD 40 helps too.
