I never take off my loader, I have no reason to. All of my bolts were tight, and the mast adjustment was tight. So I was digging into a pile of gravel, and the load I was biting into was a little to the right side of the bucket......... Then BAMMMMM!!!!! My Right foot window popped and smashed... come to find out my loader mast popped off its bracket!!! I had a **** of a time getting the loader back on the right way afterwards.. but I got it..... has this ever happened to anybody else before?

So the tractor is going in for: New Window, Brakes Sticking and not releasing, and 3pt hitch lever sensor......(if i move the lever a quarter inch forward load goes all the way down, if I move it back a quarter inch it goes all the way up).... not much room for a middle lever position....

I also want them to check my refrigerant for my A/C, doesn't seem to be pumping out as much as it once did.....(oh and filters are new)...

getting frustrated~~

Sounds like the FEL may have had tight bolts/nuts, but I'm willing to bet it was not adjusted properly when it was first installed on the tractor. That is a dealer's job, and sometimes it is relagated to someone who doesn't bother to do the final adjustments.
Believe me, I use to do that setup, and it was a step that could easily be skipped, and few would be the wiser. Sometimes they come from the factory right on the money, but not always.
Adjusted right, it will NOT pop off unless there is damage to the front weight bracket where it attaches to the tractor.

Well, I really don't know what had happened.... I've been saying for quite some time that my loader seemed like it was out of adjustment of sorts.... One way I could tell is the center nut on the metal hydraulic hose guard didn't seem like it was centered to the rest of the tractor... (looking at the front grill, the center nut on the cross tube on the loader seems like it was about 3"-4" to the left of the center of the grill on the tractor..... But, they told me it was okay.. I still thought it wasn't really right, like something was tweaked...

Then as I was trying to get the loader back on it's base after it popped off, I notice the right side mast bowed out quite a bit further than the left side mast.... (bowed out like it was 3"-4" to wide to sit on the horizontal posts that it attaches too.... So like I said, it took me about a half hour to get the loader back on the tractor..... I had to attach the right side first, and kind of steer myself under the left, and hope I don't blow out the other window....

So if the loader is tweaked... what is the remedy to straighten it? (I would think that we would have to loosen every frame bolt, straighten it out, then tighten it up again... seems logical)....... or is my frame bent? or the posts that the sit on bent? I really don't know?

Wow...keep us updated on what happens.

Could the mounting posts have been installed backwards (Left to Right)? I seem to remember a couple threads a while back about that...

I remember the posts regarding incorrect loader mounts -- loader was very loose and sloppy on the horizontal mount. Either the dealer or the factory (both really..) had messed up from the get-go.

Dealer made it right in the end!

Everything sounds like a similar situation here -- except the shattered cab window!!

Hopefully, the dealer will also handle this in a like manner.

Keep us posted.

I'm 99.9% sure they"re gonna tell you yout loader mounts were backwards. I had this happen with a full heaped load of stone at full height. And sure enough the mounts were on backwards. It's the only way the mast can come off.

Great White
I think you may be right there.
Hope all comes out ok in the long (or short) run.

I'd take some pics of the mounts for a record before it goes in for work. Just to protect you from the "they were ok" so not our fault. In the meantime they get switched right.

Gonna watch mine a bit closer now after reading this. When JD techs delivered my loader they installed the mounts and such, but after they left I went at a pile of snow and as soon as I lifted the load, the left loader mast would lift off the mount about 1/2-3/4". Called them back and they adjusted it but it still seems quite "sloppy" on the mounts.

Which way are the short 4-5" round bars on the mounts supposed to face? Toward front of tractor or toward the cab?

Thanks JD110... as I recall my mounts are on backwards. When they brought the loader up the manual was sooooo soaked with water that they couldn't peel the pages apart to see how to install the mounts. And now that the manual is dry the pics and words are all smudged and pretty much useless. I believe that the rods are pointed toward the cab, thus giving the "sloppy" movement of the loader. It has been too wet here to use the bucket so I the tractor just sits in the shop for the last month. Will be checking that out tomorrow!!!!!

Thanks again!!!
