There is a knob on the side of the remote console that can be turned and moved from min. to max. Anyone know what this is for?

Also, does anyone know how to lower the seat? I can't find any adjustments except the weight knob and to move it forward.

The manual doesn't help?

If none, then picking one up might be a good idea. :) Post a pic of the problem/mystery area and maybe someone can figure it out for you.

What is the history of this tractor you have?

The min and max stands for minimum and maximum sensitivity. This is for the three point hitch. It is a function called load control. For implements such as rotary mowers and rear blades you want to use minimum. If you are pulling heavy ground engaging implements such as a moldboard plow or chisel plow use maximum. If you have the plow in deep and you hit a hard spot in the ground, the hitch will automatically raise some to keep a constant load on the tractor. It prevents you from spinning out. The minmum setting gives you the best position control. On maximum, a small movement of the lever can cause hitch to move alot.
