Instead of guessing read the serial number , there is a difference early in the 2006 model year at 227697.

2305 compact utility tractor

2005 model (serial no. Lv2305h100001-200000)
2006 model (serial no. Lv2305h200001-320000)
2007 model (serial no. Lv2305h320001-420000)
2008 model (serial no. Lv2305h420001-520000)
2009 model (serial no. Lv2305h520001-620000)
2010 model (serial no. Lv2305h620001- )

Looks like I'm an early 2005 Model. Oh well so far so good.

Thanks. When I bought my 2010 2720 sub compact I asked the dealership sales rep. if these were still made in Illinois and he said no their japan tractors. They ship them over here to i think he said Georgia, but then deere puts their stuff on them. Mine has yanmar plates on the engine and the transmission. Basically the way I understand it any sub compact that has black paint on the bottom like the way they all do their yanmars.

I have gained a lot of support from other John Deere 2305 owners and have been asked by many what is the status of the class action suit. My goal for now is to gather a list of names of 2305 owners who have had similar problems and lack of support from John Deere. Once this list reaches a large enough size I plan to take this case to an attorney for review. This is going to be a long drawn out process, which is always the case with anything judicial, but I plan to stay vigilant and lead this case for the sake of John Deere's consumers.

If you have a similar Power Take Off 2305 Transmission problem and want to join our case, please reply to this listing or send me an email with your information including name, address, and Year/SN/Model of the 2305.

Thanks

Jacob

I'm glad to see this thread getting some action again. I have a 2210 with 340 hours now. Great care was taken with fitting the drive line for a LandPride SB1051 rear PTO snow blower. Knowing this weakness, the PTO shaft shear bolt was downgraded to a 1/4" grade 2 bolt, vs the original 5/16" shear bolt. Got to put it to work this weekend here in New England. Was very happy to have it easily shear when I hit a log with the blower, but ran great when moving deep snow.

A short (or long ) video or pics would be great of your LP blowing snow.

Relative to the thread main topic: Has anybody wrecked their rear PTO even with a shear pin or slip clutch? I know that jamming the shaft in any way can break the housing. I just don't want to have this with my machine. I don't think the prior owner ever used the rear PTO, so I'm confident that my machine has not been worked hard.

Here's a quick video blowing snow with the LandPride SB1051, powered by the 2210.
