Looking for info on a JD 40 U orange

Over the last 4 years I have refubished a 1948 Farmall Cub and a 1953 Ford Jubilee. I heard from a friend of mine that John Deere made a U model that was mainly used for mowing along the highways and it was painted orange from the factory. I would like to know more about these and maybe find one to restore.
