Considering the 5065E 4x4 and still doing some research. Really strugling with making a decision on this. I was wondering if anyone with this tractor or a smilar tractor and similar soils would know if it could pull a 3 bottom 16" plow. I am going to be doing some field work, however not a lot of field work. A 2 bottom plow would probably be too small for what Ill need. I live in central pa and have fairly rocky soil. The soil is somewhat clay, however not really bad. Anyone with any input would be great. Thanks.

I have heard 20HP per bottom.
That with 4 wheel drive it will act like it has more HP pulling.
No in clay or rocks, my 2030 (60HP) two wheel drive, pulled a 3 bottom without a problem.

I have heard 20 HP per bottom also, but I do guess it varies from place to place. My gut is telling me that it may pull a 3. I would hate to buy it and not be able to pull it though.

A 65 hp(179 cid) 5065 MFWD should be able to handle a 3X16 moldboard. Years ago I pulled a 2X14 plow with a 17.5 hp(149 cid) JD BO. But that was back when horses were Clydesdale's not Shetland ponies.

I would recommend a 5075E, I had a 5510 (89HP) would be better. Just coming from experience. If you have the money you should get bigger power. Since you have clay soil.
