John Deere 135
I have a John Deere LT 135.
Run well for 3 or four seasons. Now has 125 hours running time.

There is a 20 amp fuse in the wire between the battery and the starter relay.
I believe this simply supplies power to the relay which operates to connect the battery to the starter motor.

When I start the engine this fuse deals with the current just fine. I.e. the engine starts as expected.
The machine runs just fine for as long as I need to cut grass.

Sometime between when I start it and when I shut it off this fuse blows.

Next time I try to start this fuse has blown.

Where should I look to resolve this problem.

Thanks, Steve Brockhouse

sounds like it could be in the key switch....maybe bad contacts in the switch causing a short....

Good idea.
I'll give it a try.
Thanks, Steve.

I removed the connector and cleaned the terminal posts.
There was an indication of a few grass clipping and maybe a spidy web or two but nothing that looked as if it would cause a short.

Put it back together.

Problem appears to be cleared.

Whether it was something I did or whether the Deere Gods are smiling at me for having restarted the engine the required number of times this season I cannot tell::).

Maybe it was just tired fuses.

Anyway, I was able to start and stop it a number of times this aft.

Thanks for your input and help.

Let's hope it keeps going all summer.
