Jd 4010 anyone know what this is?

Just curious as to what this is for on my 4010. I've looked all over the Internet with no luck. It appears that something threads onto this part that I have attached pictures of. Any help would be appreciated. The part I'm curious about is to the right of the lever that engages the pto.

I am assuming it is a diesel? Remove the cap and stick a either can up in the hole while cranking the engine. Used up north for cold weather starts. Keep the cap on while not in use.
Nice tractor. Very popular here in the corn belt when they first came out.

COLD WEATHER STARTING AID
(DIESEL) You can go to JDparts.com,parts catalog # 691,scroll down to parts index,type in this part #(AR27935 ADAPTER FITTING) and it will take you to the parts description. If one uses an ether can the little spray nozzle requires removal so one can insert tip into adapter.
