I've never named anything.
I've had some outboard motors that I've called names that can't be posted here. "You cold natured, no starting bi!@#h!" was one I used often on a 15hp Evinrude.

3203 "Little John" (decal was free with purchase of the canopy)
3720 "Little John II" (had decals made when I got this new tractor)

The 4020 we call "Jolly Green Giant". The 5103 is known as "Crazy Frog" because I let out the clutch a little fast pulling some logs and did a small wheelie, causing my wife to say it looked a nutty frog. The 8N we call "Pops" as it reminds us of my dad, the original owner. That thing will work hard all day long and never let me down, just like dad.
