I have a 3032e John Deere Tractor that will not hold throttle lever when it is moved to increase RPM. This is an orange lever on the right side of the tractor dash. I have checked the linkage and tightened it. This has not fixed the issue. What maintains the lever in place? Thanks in advance!

I believe there is a friction pad that needs adjusting. At least that was it on my 4300.
Not sure what you meant when you "checked the linkage and tightened it". Maybe you did tighten the friction pad after all, but maybe not. ;)

Here is the layout of parts that show the friction pad with the tightening nut. Unless there is oil on it, then it should snug up the throttle so it stays put when you move it.
