that's my next move. i have a good machine shop that could do it. Why do they stop making parts for popular tractors like these? one salvage yard said he gets a couple a calls a week for this part.
Thanks again for your help.

Did you try Hoye tractor or LMTC? They are Yanmar dealers, but are able to get some parts for the Yanmar made deeres. Hoye has even begun getting some obsolete parts machined from scratch. Great folks to deal with too.
Yanmar 187D
4 ft Woods rotary cutter
TSC carry all
Power angle plow/dozer blade

If you wind up having this machine shop make one for yourself, you might as well have him make a dozen or so. One to use, and one for a spare. Then, you can go back to these same places you've contacted and let them know you have some for sale! Make it pay you, instead of costing you. Of course, it may be a bit of a gamble and could take some time to recoup your costs. Just something to think about.
Nothing could be finer than riding my JD790 in South Carolina!!

Nothing runs like a Deere, or smells like a John....

thanks for the great info. i found one in a salvage yard. took about 4 hours of searching and thirty phone calls. Kebo has a good idea. i will keep the broken one and get the machine shop to give me price on making them maybe twenty or so to make it worth it for them. it's worth a shot!
