I recently bought a John Deere 1026R TLB with the 60D mower for my 3.5 acres. I spent a lot of time deliberating between the 2320 and the 1026R. I went with the 1026R due to the significantly lower price (bout 3K diff for whole package), more HP, and some of the creature comforts on the 1026R. It was delivered on Thursday and i've used it every day since and it's a powerful little sucker! My question is on the auto-connect 60D deck. It only sits 3 1/4" off the ground in it's fully raised position (floor to the bottom of the deck I took that measurement on a level concrete floor). That seems really low to me and I don't remember if the other models at the dealer sat that low. My father in law just bought the Kubota bx2360 w/ their 60 deck his sits at about 6 off the ground in it's fully raised position. I called the dealer and they're going to have someone come and look at it but I wanted to pose the question to this forum b/c it's been really helpful for me in my decision making process. That low deck height is really annoying it drags over the slightest bump if I'm moving it around also the very front in the center seems to sit a little lower than the back. Anyone else experienced anything like this or can anyone else w/ a 1026R or 1023E w/ the 60D auto connect tell me their clearance on the deck?

My deck sits about like that too
I leave it off until i mow.

I have a 1023E with auto connect, and that sounds right as far as height. I am not a fan of how low it sits, and if I am doing any loader work, I take the extra couple minutes to disconnect the deck.

I have the same deck travel on my 1023e. I agree it's annoying when I want to use the loader. Drags and gets in the way. best to take it off during heavy loader operation.

You should be able to get anther inch of lift, my fully raised is 4 1/2.

I just check mine, 5 1/2" fully up. The wheels do hang down lower. I take the deck off when not mowing.

As the owner of a kubota BX2360 I have to say that one of the big advantages of the Deere mowers is the quick and easy connect and disconnect. The extra couple of minutes it takes to remove and reconnect is worth it to have it off the tractor when you're doing other work. It also eliminates the need to lift it extra high because it is a quick and easy removal.

There is an excellent tutorial over on Green Tractor Talk on just this subject. Alas, I'm not permitted to post a link to it but go there and it's the first sticky in the subcompacts forum

It sounds as though it is about the same as on our 2305 and it is pretty annoying as some places we mow, we go through some washout areas etc and have to drag the deck or take the long way around. Our BX2660 goes through these areas easily.
