My JD 6403 makes a clicking noise when I turn the key. I had the battery tested and it showed to be good. I bought and installed a new battery anyhow since the other one had some age. Any thought as to what my problem might be? Thanks.

Have you checked/cleaned & tightened securely all 4 battery cable connections?? If so then I vote starter problems.

Are you getting multiple clicks when you try to start or a single click? Multiple clicks usually indicate low voltage due to weak battery, dirty connections, or bad cables. A single click could be a bad starter, starter relay, neutral switch, etc. It helps to know where the clicking is coming from.

Got it fixed. It was multiple clicks. Turned out to be the the ground at the frame was loose. I cleaned and tightened it. It fired right up.

Glad you got it repaired. I learned many yrs ago to always check the easiest/simplest things first.
