Model 52 loader bucket cylinder rebuild
I have a leaking bucket hydraulic cylinder on a model 52 loader I just purchased. Seems a little surface rust on the rod may have abraded a seal.
Looking at the following link: John Deere - Parts Catalog
I see they sell item 7 "seat kit" for the bucket (PT5252), but would I also need item 5 "seal" (PT5247)? What about item 4 "piston" (PT5246)?
This tractor is turning into a bit of a money pit, and while I want to do it right the first time, I don't want to spend $50 on another seal if I don't need it.
Thanks!

Re: Model 52 loader bucket cylinder rebuild
Typically, the PT5252 seal kit is the only thing you need. The kit has a new seal to install on the piston. #5 is a metal guide that gets new seals on the inside bore and the outside to seal to the barrell. All these seals are included in the kit.

Cool. Thanks!
Now I have a problem with the cylinder. I started a new thread for that in the repair forum: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/p...ditioning.html
