Hey there, I have an Ex3200 yanmar and have been searching high and low for some answers about adding rear remotes to this thing. I noticed the JD790 is pretty identical to my tractor in everyway and I assume the hydraulics are likely the same. I've read a thread here :

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/john-deere-owning-operating/114285-power-beyond-kit-790-a.html

My tractor has a power beyond and has one single hose in the back looped around and to another fitting that says "out" on one side and "return' on another which would be for like a backhoe use. I assume this is the same on the 790 for anyone that has one. It looks to me this hose is used in the install of the rear remote setup in the thread above (in particular on page two). Does anyone have any info on this tractor and if thats the proper way to hook a rear remote valve into the system? I just cant quite see the pictures well enough to distinguish if thats the case or not.

Yes, you can add a valve into the PB loop. I did not look at the thread you linked (limeted connection now) but it done all the time. There are plenty of threads detailing this on the 2320/2520 JD's, I have done it as well on my 4110.

Kenny, does the remote valve installed have to be a PB as well to supply anything else downstream? The ones I've see are just the pressure and return lines to the remote valve body with obviously the remotes sticking out of the back. There is no "5th" hose so I assume that means the remote valve doesnt have to be a PB type.

On the small JD's there is no good place to add a return-to-tank line so we just use a valve without a PB sleeve installed, so there is only the IN and OUT used.

Ah, ok. I assume there is something downstream though (3pt hitch?) that uses the exhaust oil from the remote to power itself though.. If you did it this way I assume you havent had any functionality issues with it either? Sorry for all the questions, im getting bits of info from everywhere and deciding on how I should go about this. You're right there doesnt look like any good place to plumb a return line anywhere.

Ok, thanks for the help. Pretty sure I know where I'm going with this now. That JD790 is the same exact thing as our Ex3200 which is odd being such different brands but it is what it is. Our power beyond sticker plates say different things however, on the JD it says "to remote vavle" which makes it painfully obvious what its for. I think we're going to keep the valve location and get a correct valve for our application and do a few quick connects out the rear of the tractor for options. We dont use the grapple often and when we dont I can sub in the hydraulic top link on the same quick connects. Its a compromise with space and whats we really need.
