Tractor
JD/955
Could someone post a few close up pictures of the area where ROPS attaches to differential housing and sway bar attachment on a John Deere 955. My tractor came with ROPS missing and I need to fabricate something to attach sway bars to. I would like to find a ROPS if anyone has one for sale.
I am also looking for wheels to switch to R1 tires anyone have a good source?

Thanks

I should be out in the barn this afternoon... if I make it out there today, I'll snap a few pics.

I just happened to have the rear tires off my 955 so I took some pics but I don't know how good they are. I was doing a little reconditioning to the tractor....belts, hoses, lights, seat etc so I changed the tires/wheels from the turf style to the bar lug style for the summer. If it would help you any I could take some more pics with a decent camera and send to you. BTW, I love my 955. I bought it new in 1995 and it has served me well. Good luck! Larry.

Have you checked to see if JD might still offer the ROPS for the 955's?? If they do, I think they will sell them at cost, just so you will have a safer tractor. I remember buying one for the first 750 that I used to have, it cost me $300. CHEEP protection for what it can do for you in rollover.

According to JD Parts, the ROPS kit is still available, but pretty pricey. The regular ROPS shows as $560, and the Tall ROPS (6" taller) shows as $525

Found a used roll guard (p/n AM103728) on Ebay in good shape, don't know if it is the taller one or not but tall enough for me, got it installed fits just right.
Thanks for the pictures y'all posted for me

That is the standard ROPS. Unless you've freakishly tall, you really only need the tall ROPS if you're using a backhoe attachment. The standard ROPS doesn't offer enough head room when seated on the backhoe.
