JD 4400 with 430 loader
I am wanting to get some front weights for my JD 4400 so I can run the flail mower without the need to keep the loader fitted as ballast.
The weight bracket was fitted already when I got the machine.

What weights do I need for this bracket and how many? The weights I think are R66949 at 42lbs each. Is that correct?
Happy for any advice or experience from members.

Thanks

should be able to go right to jdparts.com and look up your model and it will tell you exactly which partnumber for anything on the machine. Very handy tool.

i have a set - it's been a while since i purchased them but i thought they were about 70 pounds each. i used them for a cab 4720. once you get them, invest in a small dolly so you can push them around and store them and push them right infront of your tractor for on and off ease. oh, they come with a metal rod that slides through once they are seated. you'll need a rubber mallet to tap the rod in and out.

I don't think the 70 pound weights will fit on the 4400. Not sure, but I got the 42 pound ones for my 4410. It will hold 6 of them.
