Guess there is room for assumptions? To get the 1000 rpm shaft out you need to remove a large inside snap ring IIRC. I may be wrong but thinking back about forty years.
Try being a little more explicit, complete sentences may yield better responses.

Ditto what jenkinsph stated. Remove snap ring(parts key #1) pull each shaft and interchange locations. If you'll point nose of tractor down in a ditch you'll loose less hyd oil. Also sometimes 1000 rpm shaft needs to be pulled,turned and reinstalled to get the drive splines of shaft & drive gear to line up.

So if the OP is a tractor dealer why would you think his mechanic/technician would know how to interchange 540/1000 rpm pto stub shafts on a JD 4020 tractor??
