Default 272 RFM Help

How do you remove the top shield on the mower? I took off the bolts but the guard around the PTO shaft if preventing me from taking the top panel off. Any help much appreciated.

Can you remove your PTO shaft? Should be a push button or lock ring just like the tractor end of the shaft.

I have to unbolt it but it is possible. I thought there might be something I'm missing here but the cover does not want to clear to rest of the mower body. Should not be this hard. Then I still have to take off that safety cover going around the other end you know that half circle thing on the gearbox. That is really the problem. Yellowsocks93,
Is this the same mower that you are asking about?
