Well, it is now - as best as I can recall- close or at least within a couple weeks of my 2210's 10th year! We now show just a smidge over 800 hours. Aside from some mower deck repairs, bad main drive shaft spider bearings, and now a leaky front axle seal she's been a very good girl. First pic; delivery day. Second pic; last year.

Happy B-day 2210. It still looks good. I have to get out my receipts. I think my 4115 is 10 just about now.

Mine turned 10 the week of Thanksgiving last year. Other than the snow blower driveline vibrations "finally repaired" it has been the most dependable machine I've ever owned. 700hrs.

Last summer I pulled the fill plug on the front axle to check the oil level and was shocked at how much pressure was in the axle. I looked but couldn't find a vent. This concerns me because they will start pushing oil out the seals if the pressure gets to high.

Labrat, I had the same problem with a leaking seal every-time I use the 4wd. Fix the problem by drilling a pin hole in the fill plug. Never had a leak after that.

Hi Henri hope all is well,

Good idea I will definitely do that when I take the blower off sometime in July..

I noticed the other day my 2210 engine is 10 years old. But I think the tractor is an '05. I bought it used so not sure. 500 hrs of mowing, snow pushing and light 3pt work. It's just getting broke in.

These tractors need tilt/telescoping steering wheel and suspension seat. Otherwise good machine. My previous JD455 was much more comfortable to mow with.

2210's were not made for full time mowing. They are more of a heavy duty garden/utility that can mow. I'm keeping that in mind if I can ever afford a new one again. (thanks for nothing, *****)

Yeah, I think you are right. With R4s they even ride rougher. My mowing speed is always determined by the roughness of the terrain.

I bought my 2210 in April of '03 and traded it in April '13. Had 1200+ hours on it and it still ran strong. Traded for a 1026R because I made a mistake and ruined the rear-end on the 2210. Was going to cost me 5000.00 + to fix so my wife said why not get a new one!? Gotta love her. She didn't think JD could fix it right and I'd start having trouble with it. I must say I love the 1026R. So if you ever think about trading the 1026R is the way to go but get it with the same tires you have on your 2210 as the R4's aren't very good in the snow on hills.~~Levi
