I have a 2002 John Deere 4710 with a Tilt Steering Wheel which I need to remove. I have tried several techniques which have all been unsuccessful. Has anyone out there have a method that works?
Welcome from Tennessee. I removed my steering wheel off my Massey Ferguson 135 with only a rubber mallet. I would hit upwards on a spoke, turn the wheel hit another, roll the wheel hit another. Of coarse do with with the retainer nut removed. It came loose after about ten to twenty wacks. You are basically rocking it ever so slightly on the steering shaft using this method. Be patient though it will come loose.
