What in the heck did you do! Are those metal plates?

I have not had a flat. Which really has suprised me. I figured
I would have had one by now.

The only problem land clearing is when a stick that had a 90
degree bend got run over by my tire. The bend allowed the
stick to pop off the ground which then hit my exhaust pipe.
The exhaust pipe then pushed the plastic shroud around the
radiator fan into the fan.! 8-(

I had got a lot of noise, my heart leaped into my mouth,
I ruined a pair of underware, but once I moved the exhaust
pipe everything was a ok. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dan, do you have a picture of the 4n1? I called the dealer to ask him about it but he said I need to look at a much larger tractor than the 4410. I haven't bought a tractor yet, I'm still in the process of doing that too! I wasn't planning on going any larger than a 4410, the others I like are 790 and 990.

That is some kind of contraption! Does it wrap around the wheel?

I was having a problem with flats, 11 in one week of mowing. We have hawthorn trees out here and they have 3 inch spines that love tires. We were cutting them and chipping them and the cost of labor was killing me. On the way home I picked up some 8 inch channel and 6 inch and made these to protect the tires. They work very well, no flats and traction beyond belief. I was able to mow the rest of them with impunity.

You could probably market something like that and make a killin'! Central and West Texas (particularly in the Hill Country) is made up of prickly pear cactus, the mature ones can take out a tire in no time!

So I went to google and searched on ....

Which is a not so old conversation about 4n1 buckets.

What I was trying to find was WR Long. They make 4n1
buckets and I thought they where here in NC. I just saw them
at the Farm Show in Raleigh this past Friday. Figured I would
find their website. Should have known I would hit TBN
instead!

FYI, I saw a JD 9820 at the Farm Show. The tires where about
7-8 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. I think you shoudl buy one
of these. Then you can MOVE whatever you want! I don't
think I could afford to pay to change the oil in that beast. Now
the JD 450 bulldozer was very nice. I could put that to work
real easy.

Thanks for the picture.

I was at the JD dealership this weekend and asked about the 4n1 bucket. They don't stock it but the one they sell was about $1800 total, installed and working. I'm not sure what else it takes to make it work so I'm not sure if that's a good price or not. Does it need more hydraulic fittings installed?

OH YEAH, I bought the 2010 Dozer this past weekend! I haven't had a chance to really use it though, it drove good and looked good so I got it. Hopefully it turns out to be money well spent!

Congratulations on your purchase...
I think you will find the JD2010 a substantial machine for your needs. Check my profile. I also own a 4400JD with many attachments.The 4400 is a capable tractor but I choose not to push it beyond it's limits.

I have JD 4400 with a 430 loader and 4 in 1 bucket,I work the guts out of the tractor and 4 in 1 loader.
