hi, we have the jd 59 on our 4310 that we just got this year,it has been great.it will blow snow 30-50' depending on snow conditions and chute position.we also have the r-4 tires and have not had a problem yet using the 4x4 and ballast box on the back.front mount was the only way to go for us yes more money but no twisting around to use.being in ny we snowmobile so we had the heated shield outlet from our sleds put on the tractor so when its time to blow snow we suit up like going riding with helemt with heated shield and let the snow blow where it may no problems and stay warm and dry /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've got the JD 59 front blower on my 4310 ehydro. I originally had the 59 on my 790. The 790 and 59 front blower were purchased in 1999. In april 2003, I traded the 790 for the 4310. I think the 59/790 combination did an excellent job
blowing snow. The 59/4310 combination is just a tad bit
underpowered. However, I have only used it one time this
season and that was to finally blow away all of the windrowed piles along the edge of the drive that had accumulated after a couple of weeks of using the 6 foot rear blade only for snow removal because I was too lazy to remove 430 FEL and put the 59 front blower on. So, I guess I was really giving the
59/4310 combo an unfair workout. I too have a 1200' driveway of white rock but I took the factory skids off the
59 and replaced them with home made sled runners. Here's a picture of the skids.

here's a picture of the 4310/59 after nearly all of the snow
had melted off after using it. As you can see in the photo,
I have the turf tires and I have mfwd. I love my green.

I want to make a suggestion, if not to late. In your photo the front guard for the FEL is still on the tractor. I found out if you rotate the defector ( Blower in raised position) it will hit the guard. I did not have any damage just a little missing yellow paint.

My 4300 has power to handle the 59" blower. I make sure to run in mid-range on the Hyd drive. In high it loses a lot, Low range is to slow.

Tanuke01,
I already checked the clearance of front guard / discharge chute. It is close, but has enough clearance to miss.
It's about 1/8 inch. If I make sure the slack is
taken up and push the guard further back it clears about 1/4 inch. Of course, the tolerances on this kind of fit up are
not those of a fine swiss watch. It could be that the 4310 is
slightly different than the 4300. Who knows
