So I bought a 2720 and it came with a nice 62D MMM and it had a independent lift kit installed on it. The lift works well, but I just don't understand that stupid knob on the fender and that cheesy cable dangling and rubbing my left rear tire.
I can turn my adjustment knob a few turns in either direction and once you get to the end of the cable slack, then it starts to affect the "cutting height", but otherwise most of the notches just drop the deck all the way down because the cable is slacked. Does this sound like normal operation of this cutting height adjustment knob? I can see where the previous owner chewed up his left rear tire from it rubbing this stupid cable when the cable was slacked.
Also, the lift raises and lowers the deck so darn fast at idle speed that the deck slams up and slams down almost violently. I'm wondering if this should move so fast? I have it in the FEL "up and down" hydraulic fittings. It functions great, but this seems crazy fast as far as the speed it raises and lowers.
Any other ideas on this goofy cable running thru my fender?
