JD 4510
Well Gents I have been looking for about 2 years for the right 4500/4600/4700 or 10 series to buy. I wanted a smallish machine with a high lift capacity. I quickly learned while I like my 3032e the 305 loader is a bit anemic. I tried a buddy痴 4310 with the 430 and almost purchased it but found it was low as well.
I had almost driven 6-7hrs one way to look at one of these. Yesterday the planets aligned and a guy 40min from me had one for sale. Get this 4510 original owner, 176hours, MFWD, Power Reverser, loaded tires, 6 LX Cutter, 6 Frontier rake. Now the not so great is it痴 sat outside under a tree it痴 entire life, cracked hood, side panels are going to go soon but mechanically 100% sound. She needs a little shine and some plastic, I値l give her a full service this week. Man I知 too old to be this excited!!!

Oh and does anyone know a good source for the hood/ sides? Normal search showed ebay for about $420 hood, $150 sides. Thanks Gents, Rye.

Well worth the wait. Done good.

It's rare to find one with such low hours. Plastic, while not cheap, is no big deal so it looks like you may have yourself a winner.

You are a wise and patient man!
33 years ago I began what became a 2 year search ....for a "smallish" used Ford TLB.
Well ...... now 31 years later, I STILL have my "smallish" used Ford TLB (with factory 10' hoe).
I have been delighted with my machine...for 31 years!
You will be also!

If you figure the time and money you saved not having to go 6-7 hours for the other one, you are well on the way to replacing the plastic parts.

Wow! That's like a new tractor!!!!! I ended up getting a model year 2000 JD4600 with the 460 loader with 2700 hours on it. It looked very sad and tired. The hood was all cracked up, no side panels, no grill and the instrument enclosure was cracked. I put about $1000 into new plastic with a new seat and it looks like new. I was griping about the crappy JD plastic, but I think it would have cost much more if those parts were steel. I think it's worth it to put $1000 every 15 years into the tractor to give it a "new" look. I find that if it looks good, then I enjoy it more and I take better care of the machine. Congrats on your fantastic find!!!!

Update: I bought all my plastic parts on ebay. There's a dealer that lists the plastic there for less than my local dealer. I tried to find used, but that may be a bad idea because with age and sun, the plastic gets weak and brittle.

Very nice. Congratulations.

Are you planning on moving the rear hubs/tyres out a wee bit?

I have to measure my gate and see what I can do. I noticed they may be in the narrow position.
