i re-wired a JD 2020 tractor. i believe i have all the wires configured correctly... however, i replaced the old tractor alt light with an LED light which will not shut off when the tractor is running??? The oil light functions properly and it is a LED as well.

here's my question: Is that because the voltage does not drop low enough to shut the LED off? Should I replace with a regular bulb?

Thank u for responses....

That is real similar or may the same as what is on a 730 John Deere. Let me go study my allis. I've made other John Deere parts/stuff work. Here is an example.20170804_200526.jpg20170804_200430.jpg20170804_200545.jpg20170804_200449.jpg

You need a regular bulb, not an LED for this application. It has to be able to allow current to flow both ways, an LED will not do this.
