I have recently taken possession of a new 4310 w/430 loader. I was using it this past weekend (without reading the manual) and when I would try to roll the bucket back, it seemed to dump first, then roll back. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I thought there was something wrong with it. Then I sit down that night and read the manual and discover the "regen" position, which is obviously what I was hitting. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I just wonder what most of you use this for, and/or do you lock it out?

Good morning

You should have the Dual Selective Control Lever unlocked for loader use. That is the position at the top of the lock lever. That will give you movement in all four directions.

Good luck

The regen is used to help dump the bucket faster, I leave mine unlocked and have learned when to use it. It does not really work well when the bucket is empty.
Hope this helps some...

I have a 4115 w/ 410 FEL. Either I don't have a "regen", or I misses something, completely, when reading the manual and putting 250 hr.s on the machine. Perhaps "...dual SCV..." is the key. As far as I know, I have a single SCV. Guess I'll have to re-read the manual to see if I have a function I didn't know about.

Torn,

If you have a FEL then you must have the dual SCV. Othewise you would only be able to either lift/lower the FEL or curl the bucket (Unless you have a switch somewhere to switch between the two functions).

Tom,
On your 410 loader control valve, the joystick is actually our DSCV, dual selective control vavle. It controls the boom lift and lower, as well as bucket curl and dump... therefore the dual valve. There was a discussion recently that addressed the "regen" position for your tractor, there is a setting under your seat on the valve that lets you change between "normal" or "regen" positions. I believe we posted some colored pictures of that setup also. try searching for 4110 dscv regen , posts within the past year. I think it was about 6 months or so when they were posted.

Make sure you don't have the return lines swapped, strange things happen when thay are, and that sounds similar to how mine acted when I had done that...

Dutch,

Never got to the manual today but Thanks. DSCV makes sense...didn't think of it that way. I'll check for the thread, and the switch. I have read the manual, cover to cover, several times...just don't remember any reference to "regen".

Thanks again,

Tom

Again, thanks. Pulled the manual back out. Had read this but never did anything with it, other than lube. For the benefit of anyone who missed this in the manual (4110/4115), here's the SCV ("dual") Lock Out Lever section. I don't think this is actually related to "regen"...but all will be easier to discern in daylight.

Tomorrow I'll try position "C" to see what it actually does, and post a pic of where it is, w.r.t. the SCV and seat. It's a bit late, and dark, at this point.

Tom

Tom, That is NOT the Regen lockout, that is the lock for the whole DSCV, you would use this when the loader is off, so bumping the joystick will not send the hydraulics into relif mode.

Take a look at this POST for a good picture of the regen lockout. Also follow the link to the 210 Loader problem post for more info on what the regen does.

And this POST by member KUBMECH has probably the best explaination of regen I have read.

The owners manual does not mention regen at all, nor the lockout device for it /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Some dealer's do not even know about it.
