I am the proud new owner of a great little baler, JD 224T. We have baled our 213 bales for this first crop and I'm not sure if I had the tongue in the correct postion. The owners manual is a little nebulous but seems to say that when baling, tongue should be in center position. My concern with this is when in the center position the power shaft isn't straight from tractor to baler. Kind of makes a long Z. When tongue is in the furthest outside position, the power shaft is straight from tractor to baler. This makes more sense. Anyone know the real answer to which position the tongue should be in when baling?

Not knowing what tractor you are pulling the baler with or the rear wheel spacing on the tractor, you should set the hitch so the right rear wheel of the tractor clears the windrow by 6" to one foot. Hope this helps /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
