Justin,
I have a 4310 and bought clamp-ons. I did quite a bit of research and there are a couple of quick attach brands that hook up nicely to the arms after removing the bucket. I didn't go that route for 2 reasons:
1. Fork bending seems to be an issue with the 2 brands of quick attach units I found that will attach to my JD430. The clamp-ons I got were from a company in Colorado (whose name escapes me but I am sure I can find them again). Each fork weighs in at over 90lbs and are 1 1/2 inches thick - solid steel. I didn't care for the tubular design many of the clamp-on manufacturers sell.
2. Storage was an issue for me. I have room to easily store clamp-ons but a quick attach unit would have to be left outdoors in the N.E. weather.
I think a quick-attach gives you more leverage and you can definitely see the load better than trying to look over the bucket, BUT how much can your tractors FEL lift? Leverage might not be an issue.
If I were going to use the forks alot, I would have bought the quick attach, storage or not. So far, I have used the clamp-ons twice and they worked exceedingly well. Best of all, when I took them back off, they store nicely along the wall of my garage where I am not tripping over them.
