Beg pardon if this is the wrong forum for this question; but I'm trying to find out if anyone has used the JD Thatcherator to remove moss from a lawn. (The local JD dealer doesn't know if it would work well or not.)
I have a JD front mounted thatcher (tines with gauge wheels and 'shelf' that you can add weights so the tines bite more)...it would definitely take up the moss but just about everything else along with it. It worked best when just skimming/scratching the surface. It might pull up the odd tuft of rooted grass but I'm not sure it would be enough to get moss up.
