2wd 6300 w/cab, 6310 4wd w/cab and 640SL loader, 920 mower, 709 rotary cutter, Farmi JL 601 winch, JD 456 round baler, 752 tedder, 74 and 75 ground driven rakes w/dual position hitch
Today I bought the 709 JD brush cutter. I tried it yesterday and bought it today. The best brush cutter I have ever seen. It's the heaviest built brush cutter I have ever seen.

Could you give the dimensions of this unit and perhaps a ballpark price figure. Many Thanks

The "7" in the "709" refers to feet...and Vernon, I have to apologize for misleading you, I have a 717, not a 709...I am still happy with it.

That's okay. As long as you like your cutter is good enough. The 717 and 709 are a lot the same. The 709 is more heavy duty is all.

I recently purchased the new MX5 cutter for my 4600 and am very pleased with it. It appears to be very well constructed and heavy duty. I'll keep you posted.

The MX series has several new features that I wished they had when I bought my 717. For one the top is slanted so when you leave it sitting outside, the water is more apt to run off and not collect on the top, and the other being the built-in stump-jumper...bought my 717 two months too early I guess...I did order the add-on stump-jumper, which I have yet to getting around to installing...enjoy (BTW: how do you like your 4600?)

So far I have had no problems with the tractor. I only have about 20 hours on it so I guess time will tell. I am very happy with it as of now.
