I have seen 790s with all three installed so I was just curious.

The 419 is the "old" loader for the 790 tractor... It's brothers were the 410 (small-frame CUTs) the 420 (light duty for mid-frame CUTs) the 430 (heavy duty for mid-frame CUTs) and the 460. (heavy-duty for large-frame CUTs) They also had a little cousin named 210 which was only for the 2210 Sub CUT.

The 300CX is in the "new" family of curved arm loaders... The 200X, (non-parking) and the 200CX (qwik-tatch) are both for the 2000 Series Sub and small-frame CUTs. The 300 is for the 790 & 3203. The 300X (light duty) and 300CX (heavy duty) are both for the mid-frame CUTs while the 400X (heavy duty) is for the large-frame CUTs. The 400CX is identical to the 400X and adds mechanical self-leveling.

As far as what is different about 419, 300 and 300CX... The 419 is an older style straight arm loader, and has been replaced by the 300 curved arm model. The 300CX is also a new curved arm loader, and while it is not technically supposed to go on the 790 - I also have seen it done. Although I must caution you that my shop has not installed a 300X or 300CX on a 790, so I don't know what complications may or may not arise.

As usual, I was long winded, but I hope it answers your question!!!

I can't seem to find the lift capacity figures for any of the loaders mentioned. I've got the 300CX on my 3520 and wanted to know what my lift limit is.

I have a JD790 with the 419 loader on my 2000 yr. model. The short comings of the loader is lift capacity and lift height. The 419 also lacks in grill protection also!

If you've the 419 Loader on a 2000 790, it was added after the fact. The 2000 790's would have had the #70 (or #70A) loader installed. The #419 loader wasn't sold until 2003 or 2004.
The 419 lifted about 10" higher then the #70, so it was an improvement over what had been installed on the 790's. It also had a higher lift capacity then the 70 loader. What caused considerable confusion was the fact at maximum lift height, it had less capacity then the #70 loader. What folks didn't look at was both maximum lift height and maximum capacity.

The 419 loader lifts about 610-620 pounds at 88". That isn't bad for a 2000 pound tractor designed in the 1980's. Granted, the 790 doesn't have the capacity of the newer designs, but for most folks, the capacity is quite adequate.
Realistically, unless one is loading a truck, maximum lift at maximum height isn't really an issue...is it?
