what was the original color for the seat of an M?

Black is very likely correct. But seems like my grandpa's was yellow. It looked good if it wasn't the original color.

My MC is yellow but I have no idea if it was original or not.

I am pretty sure that it is black. My uncle bought the 1949 Model M used when I was about 7 or 8 years old and it was black and I feel pretty confident that it was the original seat. Not gospel but I would say 99% sure. I now own the tractor and he put a car bucket seat on it about 20 years ago to make it a little more comfortable but is is now worn out and needs replaced with something. Hope this helps
