Waited all year for one of our biggest plow days event only to get 500 yrds or so into very hard pulling with 2 bottom 16" behind our 60 JD when started smelling antifreeze.Looked a temp gauge (normal) continued on till seeing puffs of steam noticed antifreeze bubbling out between head and block on both sides of engine, immediately lifted plows and headed for trailer. Funny thing is once I stopped working tractor so hard leaking stopped. So have a cooling system pressure testing coming to see if we can figure this out.
Did get to spend the day out in the fields on a 1937 Farmall F14 pulling 2 bottom trailer plows owned by the event organizer, thanks Dave.

Have talked to a lot of people and it is known that JD had trouble with 60 head gaskets blowing.Latest suggestion is to get engine to running temp then retorque all head bolts. Will do that after pressure test.
