Tractor
John Deere
We have recently inherited an old John Deere tractor and we are wanting to know year/model/value.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless

It's either a late, styled Model A or a late, styled model B. Look for a tag in the location mentioned in the other reply.

Hard to tell from your photos (too small, not enough resolution when enlarged). It's probably a styled A or B. It looks like engine is set up to use natural gas or propane in your second photo (the bulge in the aft end of the hood seems like the setup you see in tractors that use propane or natural gas). The older versions of these models had a so-called "all fuel" engine option--start the engine with gasoline and then change to "distillate" fuel (something like kerosene or diesel).

Yes i have seen that tag but can't read anything on it. What's a tractor like this one worth? Im planning on selling it.

I paid $1750 for my 1949 JD B wide front tractor with electric starter, rockshaft (for 3 point hitch) and PowerTrol hydraulics to power implements that have hydraulic cylinders.

The tractor runs fine. Had to replace the right front tire. I'll probably build a 3-point hitch for it someday soon and give it a paint job.

Good luck

Freddy, value is all over the place, from $250-$5000 depends on many factors, does it run, will it start and move for you ? Tires in good shape ? How rusty is it ? Do you have any history on it ? Very hard to say, can u take a couple of add'l pics i am sure u will get lots of responses.......

Yep. Doesn't bother me--I prefer wide front axles.

. I believe that tractor may be quite valuable to a collector/restorer. It's LP powered and should be in good mechanical shape because of its ability to run clean. I'd definitely make certain to have checked with somebody at the Two- Cylinder Club for their input. Don't sell cheap!
