John Deere 3020 Diesel
I have a 1965 John Deere 3020. When the tractor runs at a low idle there is a rattling or knocking noise coming from the front of the engine. When I turn the steering wheel it is louder. when I run it at a higher idle it seems to go away. Could this be the hydraulic/steering pump or do I have bigger issues? New member, first post.

Hi. Welcome. I am not familiar with your tractor but several on here have 3020's and could help.

Welcome to the forum!

:welcome:

I'm going to move your thread over to the vintage John Deere section. Hopefully someone over there knows.

Welcome to TBN
Noise you describe is normal for worn hyd pump drive bushings/plates. Check frt hyd pump drive coupler bushings for wear.

Thanks for the info. I suspected it was the pump. I'll check and see what shape the coupler bushings are in. Appreciate the feed back.
