I have a 1970 JD 400 industrial loader with a backhoe. Let me just say this. I dont know a thing about hydraulics so bear with me because probably somethings that you guys say is probably over my head.
At some point someone put a thumb on it with a lever valve that is plumbed in with the curl on the bucket. So if i want to use the thumb I flip the lever and as i curl the bucket and pressure is applied to the bucket the thumb will start to close. It works in all but I want to separate the thumb from the bucket. What is the best way to re-plumb the thumb and have it on its own valve?
