What smells fishy?
All TEN bidders have hid their identity. If you are an honest person bidding $800 on a $10,000 tractor, what do you have to hide? The tractor "checked out OK" (the seller may have it on consignment and not actually own it) Sounds like they looked at it and now want to sell it. How many people in Pennsylvania tell a potential buyer the price of an item and then say "in US dollars" How many different dollars do they use in PA? A man goes into a PA convienance store to buy a couple sodas. The clerk is going to say $2.21 in US dollars????

Well it looks like ebay canned it. It is no longer a active listing.
As far as listing that you only take US dollars. I ALWAY'S make that statement. If you don't it never fails that someone from some far off country wins it and wants to pay in Camel chips. Don't forget, ebay is a global market place. |

What's the exchange rate for camel chips now? It was 15 Euros per metric ton.

I think these scammers might feel justified taking advantage of someone who would take advantage of someone selling somthing so far below value... Just like the ones who send the emails offering you a big chunk of several hundred or even millions of dollars if you claim to be the heir of some important so and so who was killed somewhere. If you get taken while tring to take someone....well of course 2 wrongs dont make a right.
Anyway as the old saying goes: "if its too good to be true, it probably is (not true)". still works. The scams are even worse on classic car ads where $ 30-50,000 cars are usually offered for $4995. Enough people pull these scams that some must get away with someones money. almost always from someone with a g mail or hotmail account too. |
