More stringent EPA requirements went into effect Jan 1. (tier III I think, depending on HP class). This is why they cant get any more DK65s in country.

1st, let me say that particle traps and such are EGR setups on on-road vehicles are ways manufacturers chose meet new emissions standards. 2nd, there are different rules for on/off road vehicles so what happens in one segment doesn't mean it's going to happen in the other.

As for getting a vehicle emissions testing, that's up to the state. That's the reason different states have different regulations. They just need to meet minimum Federal standards. Now with you being in CA, who knows what CA will force on it's residents.

If you want to read up on the different tiers of off-road emissions, follow this like. Emission Standards: USA: Nonroad Diesel Engines

Well, CA has not done emissions testing for on- or off-road Diesels, despite setting standards in that area. No testing for motorcyles either. Go figure.
You do NOT want to get behind a Dodge Diesel PU with a poorly running
engine!

Newer combustion chamber and FI design has certainly made for quieter and
less stinky Diesel tractors. I like that, since I am cursed with sensitive nose
and ears. My 05 CK30 is a delight to drive; my 98 B21 is awful.

I just looked at the new CK brochure. For you Kioti dealers who read TBN,
you need to get the factory to publish honest specs on weight and the
hyd implement pump flow (8.3GPM).
