For the sake of customer loyalty, Kioti should cover the labor. However, you are a commercial user. They are standing by the warranty to the extent they are required to: defects in material and workmanship. This looks to me to be a workmanship issue. I'm not sure you'd get better treatment from any other manufacturer. Getting the labor covered might just be luck: who you talk to and when, and of course your persuasion skills. I'd keep trying. The squeaking wheel does get the grease. Anyway, a grand for a commercial user should not be that big of a deal; cost of doing business I'd say. Now if you don't want to buy from Kioti again because of it, that's your prerogative. I might feel the same way. But, a lawyer? You wouldn't have a case.

I wish you luck. I hope they make it right for you and you reconsider buying Kioti again.

Just as a reference point. I ordered my new (Kioti) engine October 2004 and didn't receive it until January 2005. Yup, three months .

Thank the Lord mowing season was over and the deep snow hadn't come yet.

Old engine was well worn and oil was passing through the blow by tube. I was mowing about 20 acres at the time (red hot day) and didn't check the oil level until the light came on. I shut it right down, pulled the stick, added oil and let it rest for a few hours. After lunch I fired it up and thanked my luck stars that everything seemed OK.

I mowed about 300 feet and heard that sickening sound of the connecting rod coming loose. I shut er down right away, towed it out of the field and decided then & there to buy a new engine and maintain it from the "get go". I figured the machine was strong & sound and that a new engine would last me until I was worm food. Never regretted it.

I'd say keep trying to contact someone at Kioti. They're been pretty good to deal with from a dealer's perspective so far.

Meanwhile you guys can keep making lawyer and mechanic cracks all the live long day.

How many hours did it have on it?

Unknown. As typical with the Kioti dash board hour meter, it slowed down and eventually stopped.

The meter showed 1032 when I bought it (first year 1993 model). I saw the meter move, but it was spotty. I pulled the shaft and inspected it and it looked OK. I think it still reads only 1037 today, but I stopped looking a long time ago. I bought a new dash board type hour meter and installed it soon after the transplant so I could track hours for maintenance purposes.

I sold the old engine on Ebay for a give away price and the fellow (from New Hampshire) said he would rebuild it and put it in one of his old tractors. Don't know how he made out. And that's the story and epilogue to this whole sorry event.

Moral? Pull & check the stick often, especially if the thing's blowing oil. Hence my signature.

Sorry to hear your problems with Kioti. I never had an issue with them while I had my tractor and Mr. Carver down in NC was a great guy to deal with. I did have to "lemon law" my 2006 Jeep Liberty diesel this past year though. I'll NEVER purchase another Chrysler product EVER. I understand how you feel.

Thanks for your empathy. The company will do nothing for me! The dealer I purchased from, who had nothing to do with repairs... (Little Tractor) have stepped up to help. They went above and beyond (in my opinion) in trying to get Kioti to pay, even having a face to face with the owner of the company....to no avail. They also helped with some of the labor, and I am greatly appreciative. Mike down at Little tractor is the best! I highly reccomend them.

Sad thing is my tractor is back in the shop for hydralic arms that control the loader bucket. The bucket will not stay curled, even empty. Less then 600 hours, and it will cost $290 per arm and labor. Boy, along with my costly repair on the loader joystick, and joystick repairs on my backhoe....and the anoying hydro pedal that sticks constantly, I am begining to question the quality of this tractor!

You are experiencing what I have went through with Kioti. Little Tractor is an awesome dealer(as well as others on this board) that goes above and beyond when representing these tractors.
In my family there are 4 Kioti tractors. One engine went down with less than 400 hours - mostly warranted by Little. My hydro went out at 240 hrs.- supported by Little - now my hr. meter quit about 100 hrs ago. The third is now making a noise when the PTO is operational. It is not the overrunning clutch. The 4th is ok to this point.
They are neat tractors. However my (our) confidence in these tractors is shaken - and it is definitely not due to the dealer - he has went over and above.
Have thought about putting the tractor on ebay but my perception is that I would take a beating based on other auctions I have looked at.
I know that no tractor is perfect. I also see the other threads. I have just lost it for Kioti.
