Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
Thanks guys. So far on the plus side I've gotten half-way through a pole barn build, gotten all hot and sweaty about getting a new tractor, and learned pigs can be your friend from TBN. On the other side, I've realized that it was not the brightest move on my part to buy the Farmtrac to begin with and the value of several implements, including the grapple I want.
In general I must give two thumbs up to the members of TBN. If nothing else, you REALLY get many points of view on many subjects.Doug P

Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
Something doesn't sound quite right. The prices you listed on the DK40 of @19
and the DK45 sound @ 2,000-2500 too low. Are they both hydro.? w/ loader?
Don't beat them up on price because you appear to already be getting a good deal
if they are correct.

Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
On the DK 45, do you know what 3rd function valve kit the dealer installed (or used)? Figure an average price of approx. $750 for this kit.
I can't comment on the turf tires. If this is an HST unit. BUY IT!!!!!!

Seems like a great deal. I paid ~$30k 3 years ago for my DK45 HST w/ backhoe.

Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
I was off by $500 on the DK40se, it was actually 19.5. The DK45se was correct- The price was actually tagged on the machine. The only thing is what my Farmtrac will bring. One possible advantage with the dealer that has the DK45se is they used to sell the Farmtracs and did have a number of used tractors for sale

Why do you want turf tires on a DK45? Pretty unusual on a tractor as heavy as a Kioti. Yes they are kinder to lawns but frankly heavy DKs should stay off true manicured lawns, that is a job for wimpy lightweight Kubotas!
Seriously though, you need to think about balancing traction with tread type. It won't hurt your grass any less if you spin turf tires. Most of us find that R4s leave very little lawn damage so long as we stay off when the ground is wet.

Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
Heck of a deal if it's right. A more realistic price on the DK40HST w/ ldr. should be @ upper 21's. On the DK45 HSt, should be mid-23's and that's R-4 tires. Turfs should be higher I would think. So I don't know. Maybe they have had them a while and need to get rid of.
As far as the hyd. valve, all DK's come standard w/ one rear remote valve. That valve could be used for the 3rd function.

Re: Reading TBN can be expensive
Yes, they all come with one rear remote, adding another like I did cost $500(dealer installed at purchase) and worth it to me because I added top & tilt.
For the trade-in price of you Farmtrac(I'm guessing around $3K) and if you have a "farm", I'd keep it. I'd love to have a second smaller tractor for tilling, raking and tedding hay, etc. That's cheap back-up if you need it.............2008 KIOTI DK40Se Hydro
