Kioti RX6010
Just looking for recommendation. I am looking at a new KIOTI DK50 HST or a used 2011 RX6010 with 230 hours. They r both about the same price. I use my current tractor for moving large logs to cut for firewood, snow removal for about 1/4 mile long lane located at the bottom of a mountain, and I also plant at least 3 acres of food plots in spring and summer and brush hog some large fields. I know people have said they prefer hydrostatic for hilly terrain which I will admit there are occasions when it would be nice. I currently have a shuttle shift gear tractor and I can do everything I need to do with a gear type of arrangement. I am wondering if it is worth giving up the new hydrostatic for a used gear driven tractor that has 10 more HP and has also depreciated so I won't feel that part of buying a new one. Physical size is within 4" of each other in width & height, RX6010 weighs about 1,300 lbs more and wheelbase is about 9" longer. I know if I go with a smaller tractor there may be times I wish I had a bigger one, but if I go with the larger I am pretty sure I won't regret it. I also plan to put a backhoe on whichever one i decide to buy and I feel the larger may provide a better platform and stability for digging. Any recommendations or input is welcome, I am hoping to make a decision before Christmas.

Two very nice tractors. You most likely would be happy with either one. My one recommendations is to test drive them both and then make a decision. Bigger is better for this but HST is better for that! Merry Christmas.

I bought the DK50SE HST with a cab and I like it. But in your situation, I'd buy the RX6010. 230 hours is nothing and the extra power and weight would be useful for your purposes. And, as you mentioned, the prior owner took most of the depreciation.

Both are great tractors; you need to decide if you do or don't want HST. Kioti Backhoe is the same for both, KB-2485. There is not a bigger or newer hoe for the larger 6010 yet, and there may never be one specifically for the 6010 size. The KB-2485 is an awesome hoe, I've been using one since 2009.
Consider if the 50 is a tier 4 interim or full tier 4 unit. If so, newest technology, maybe not greatest value as to possible downside issues as yet unknown. RX6010 will be tier 3, proven technology.

Well I went today and drove both the HST DK50 and gear RX6010. I drove the HST a total of about 100 feet and I took it back to parking. It was not for me. I am used to a gear tractor and I didn't like the response and power of the HST. I am definitely going with a gear drive tractor. The RX 6010 is used and on consignment for one of his customers. I negotiated and the following is the deal I have been offered. The tractor is a 2012 RX6010 with 230 hours. It comes with a 2485 backhoe, a hydraulic grapple, a hydraulic angle quick attach snow plow and of course a loader bucket. It has an extra rear hydraulic ports for attachments and also the rear tires are foam filled. Tractor is in great shape. $35,800 for everything. I think it is a pretty good deal. Any thoughts and input appreciated.

I think that is a SMOKING deal. Figure the backhoe is probably $8,000 new, the grapple around $1,000 - $2,000 (depending on what it is) and I have no idea about the snow plow since I live in Texas, but I'd say you've easily got $10,000 - $11,000 worth of extras, so that's like getting the tractor for about $25,000 or perhaps less.

I wouldn't look that gift horse in the mouth very long.

Verify the ACTUAL year by serial #. The dealer can show you the coding. You're better off, especially if you dislike the HST, to go with the older tractor because of the tier 4 issues mentioned previously.
Will you get the remaining full warranty on the tractor? If so, have them document all the details, BEFORE signing.
Show pics too for us!

BTW, The hoe was nearly $8K in 2009!

I put $500 down while I was there today to hold the machine and I told the dealer I would have my decision Monday and that I would like to sleep on it. I will be taking the deal and everyone's input here just solidifies my decision. The RX6010 has a build date in 2011. The dealer sold it new to a gentlemen brand new in March 2012 so it is a Tier 3 tractor, it has only one original owner and is now on consignment back with the dealer. I asked about the warranty and the 2 year portion expires March 2014 and the 4 year engine/power train expires March 2018 so I was happy about that too. Not sure if delivery will be before Christmas but hopefully shortly after, I will post up pics for all to see.
