It will be used to clean up the woods to start. To maintain the driveway and the dam as well. Also to mow a lit of acres. Wanted a 15 foot batwing so had to step up also lots of hills around too. We are discussing livestock now but need to be there first. Probably, chickens and goats and alpaca. Talked about cattle but need to get the 100 acres behind me first or at a min the 40 next to me. If all works out I will have about 200 acres.

Hah. My wife wanted lamas. I have takes her out of it for a while. Once the orchard is established and we catch up on some vacations she will probably bring it up again.

almost 30 hours now. I used it to move some stumps and brush. My son in law moved some brush and stumps for me on saturday...about 10 hours worth, and my wife has been at the controls the last three days. Either I , or my son in law had a stick poke thru the grill when we were pushing brush with the grapple...no internal damage....My wife was running it and I saw a stick hanging from the underside so I had her stop, and I removed the stick. It was covered with hydraulic fluid.. So we checked the transmission fluid and it was not showing on the dipstick. Shut her down and got under the tractor...gotta love muddy days. I saw some evidence of a leak...drips of fluid carving their way thru the dust. And the underside of the transmission was slick with oil. I sent the wife to the store...she returned with a 5 gallon bucket. IT took about 3.5 or 4 gallons to get back to the full mark. I got I found one hose fitting in the middle of the tractor, above the transmission that I can not reach that is dripping very slowly. IT looks like it would require removing the a tire or the fender to get to it. But it was a slow drip...maybe a drop every few minutes. We ran the tractor, checking it every 30 minutes and while I was working near her, I saw something else....So I checked it out and there was a hydraulic line on the lower left rear, behind the tire, that was leaking every 2-3 seconds. I could reach it, but my wrenches didn't work because the space was so small. Bought a set of wrenches at lower that are half the normal size...none of them worked...they went up to 3/4 inches, and 19 mm...I also bough a short adjustable wrench and it worked. Stopped the drip. At some point, I will have to figure out how to get to the middle line to attend to that drip.
Now, on to equipment. We discovered that a combination of box bad with scarifier and root grapple, do a decent job of getting major debris our of the field. But there is much room for improvement, so we will be getting a heavy duty landscape rake. Emphasis on heavy duty. I have a woods BSM84 box blade.. It is rated by woods as heavy duty. My dealer said he couldn't imagine it not handing anything I threw at it. Well, he has never met SWAMBO. She, it turns out is rough on equipment. I had to make her slow down because she likes to move the tractor a little faster...she also runs over, and thru piles of debris....and she just started using the scarfiers yesterday...they all look a tad monkey, and one looks bit like a cork screw. The box blade is fine...but the scarifiers ain't.

Sorry to hear about the leaks. Other than that are you still happy with your tractor?

If your tractor is built like my NX, you can gain access to the top of the transmission by removing the seat and then the access cover the seat bolts to. This makes a giant access point.

I am very happy with the tractor. The little leaks are an annoyance, but in all fairness, it was already tight...I applied a bit more torque and the leak stopped. The other one will be dealt with later in the week. I had not checked the transmission fluid in more than a week, and after spotting the fluid covered stick ,I checked it...The dipstick showed NO fluid. That freaked me out....When the wife came back from the auto parts store with a 5 gallon can of fluid, we added about 4 gallons and got it back to the full mark. We checked it periodically since then and it is steady. The tractor is very comfortable and incredibly strong. One thing that I do not like is the persistent rattle from the little kickstand apparatus that is supposed to hold the FEL if you remove it...that thing rattles so much, I keep thinking there is something wrong with the engine. I fashioned a plastic shim out of a plastic water bottle to quiet a rattle in the large pin that holds the FEL on. I am thinking some plastic board material would dampen the vibration of the kickstand. By investigating the vibration noise from the kickstand, I discovered where the lost nuts had come from. I will try to snap a picture today. But I found that I had lost 3 nuts (I had recovered 2 of them) from inside that kickstand...they they were spinning with vibration and had come off. I replaced them with the locking type and that was quickly fixed. Today I will be checking around to order some new scarifier blades.

Maybe that's where the noise is coming from on mine. I always thought is was the big pins holding the loader on. But same as you; I am very happy with my tractor.

These things are industrial farming EQ, I wouldn't worry about running below the dipstick for what limited use you had since the pump was still picking up fluid and you never hear the pump caveating. Which is to say you never heard damage happening so, the pump was always swimming in hydro fluid. You're fine. Attend to the leak, and carry on. :)

Wow, sounds like she's enjoying the tractor almost as much as you! :) I have that box blade and love it, but Woods lists it on their site as medium duty. http://www.woodsequipment.com/files/Products/Literature/Landcape%20Equipment%20Full%20Line%20B04024.pdf (see p. 9 of the pdf). Your tractor is quite a bit more powerful than mine, but still, she must have had up a good head of steam to do that to the scarifiers!
