The first day using my new 2007 DK45S with KL451 (FEL), I heard a snapping sound coming from what I thought was twigs cracking under the front tires. After hearing it a few times, I got off the tractor to investigate. It wasn't twigs. On sharp turns, the front tires are being cut by the KL451 frame. I called the dealer, and was advised that it was a known problem, and that I should just get a grinder, and grind the loader frame until it clears the tires. Is he kidding me? This is a new tractor! I'm concerned about the structural strength of the loader, and of course warranty and resale. Does anyone know anything about this Kioti problem? I can't believe that this can be a known problem and Kioti continues to sell this tractor loader combination. Blowing out the front tires has to be a safety issue. Can the KL451 frame be adjusted relative to the front axle? Do I have the wrong FEL or mounting frame? Please help.

Thanks.

There is a spacer kit that should have been installed by your dealer to bring the front tires out.
Call your dealer and tell him to contact Kioti or myself to get this problem taken care of.
If you get no satisfaction then please feel free to contact me.

Wallace;

Thanks for your help.

I checked with the dealer, and he assures me the kit was installed. There appears to be a gray spacer behind the front wheels approximately .5 inches thick.

The dealer then suggested the tire cutting may be the result of normal twisting of the front axle over uneven ground. To check this out, I parked on a level surface and took the weight off the front wheels using the FEL. I turned left and right. The FEL frame continues to dig into the tires.

Any suggestions what I should check next?

Thanks.

I know when we did them the valve stems had to be on the outside.
Take the wheels off and switch them from one side to the other.

Also make sure they have the proper size tire on it.
It should be a 12x16.5

Boy-O-boy the more I look at the pictures it looks to me like someone put DK55 tires on it? (14x17.5)

Do not grind your loader frame. Totally lame thing for the dealer to say. The tire damage done is also unacceptable for your new tractor and not your fault. Are there little steering stops that you can use to adjust the max wheel angle? I have them on my CK and while it wouldn't solve the problem it will at least save you from any more damage.
