This is normal, reverse slower than forward. On the fender of my CK30, it gives the ranges of forward and reverse speeds in the different ranges. Reverse is always slower than forward.

And THAT is one reason I like the backhoe thumb I made. Instead of backdragging limbs on the toothbar, I pick them up with my thumb and can drive forware to where I want.

my machine was moving slower in reverse, and highbeam hooked me up on this fix,the peddle is very easy to bend by hand,so it wouldnt take much to bend it. i just looked under the floorboard at the actuator, and pushed the peddle in reverse to the floorboard, and then forward to the floor,(while the tractor is not running)and watched the distance it traveled in each direction.mine wasnt traveling the full range in reverse,so i put a piece of wood under the front of the peddle and pulled up on the rear of it until it bent a little, and checked it again, problem solved. if you do a search you can find my original thread where highbeam and others wrote in on this fix, try typeing in slower in reverse, and see what comes up...............chris

The tilt block on the hydraulic pump is controlled by the pedal. The tilt block (sometimes called as swash plate) is set so that it won't go as far "on stroke" in the reverse direction as it does in the forward direction hence less volume of hydraulic fluid is pumped to the "b" end or hydraulic motor that is connected your gear train. My CK25 has a sticker indicating slower speed in reverse than forward.

I don't have a better picture and my machine is at another location right now. I enlarged on of my pics and cropped it to show the decal. There are three sets of bars, one each red and blue. Blue is the speed in forward for each HST range and the red is speed in reverse. You can see the red is lower in each range compared ot the blue.

Of course what you really need is a grapple! I'd imagine your front end will be a bit light with a big ole stump hanging off your BH. |

Oh, quit bragging! That's on the agenda! ![]() Besides, it saves on wear and tear on the front tires! Seriously, if it's big like that, I get under it with the toothbar. Or likely as not, roll the darn thing!
