Got my new tractor(CT225) white in disguise and picked up a woods brush cutter, this is my first tractor and first time hooking up the cutter, heck if I could get it figured out, anyone got pointers, video, pictures etc of how to attach the lower links, I just could not get it aligned I guess, got one on then the other would not come on and vice versa. help please

Have you removed the pins in your antisway bars so that the links swing freely? Are you making use of the telescopic part of the bottom links?

Just so I make sure we are talking about the same part, the "sway bars" you are taling about are the same ones that have the pins with several holes to adjust the lower 2 arms width? Is that correct? and if so, are we supposed to keep the pins in when using rear attachments? I have only been using a back blade and a box blade but have kept the sway bar pins in because I am afraid the rear attachments may shift and hit my tires. I am using a CK 30.

contdevelop, yes, the sway bars are the ones with pins and several holes. You are correct to keep the pins in while using an implement, it will help to prevent the implement from making contact with the rear tire (especially when the 3PT is raised and operating on slopes!).

They also help keep rear mowers "on track" and ground engaging equipment from wandering if soil conditions change or rocks are encountered. There is a setting that has a slotted hole to allow the arms to sway a small amount if your application requires it.

So you back up to the implement pretty squarely and set the eye in the raisable 3ph lower bars right on top of the pins that belong in those holes. Always start with the driver's side arm since that arm has no adjustment. Pull those gold pins out of the sway bars to allow the 3ph arms to swing around and lower the 3ph adjustment lever all the way so it rests on the mower pins. You can manually lift the 3ph now to get that dside bar on the pin. Latch the pin in place so that you are now connected to the mower with nothing but the dside 3ph bar. Now do the same with the passenger side bar. You will not be able to raise or lower the pside bar without using the adjustable hand crank deal as needed or if needed to get it on the mower. Latch that bar and now you have only the lower links of the 3ph attached. Now hook up the PTO shaft. Then hook up the top link, raise the implement and replace the sway pins and you're done. Ready to move onto final adjustments.

Once you do this about 1000 times it will become quite smooth and efficient. You shouldn't have to manhandle the implement much since the tractor has adjustments for everything.

Make sure you level the implement back up if you adjusted the drivers side lower link while putting it on.

I bought my first tractor (DK45HST) about 7 months ago. After my first attempt hooking up the brush cutter and then using every cuss word I know - I ordered a set of Pat's Quick Attach.

Other than the Long Root Rake Grapple, this is the best money I have spent on my tractor. Call it being spoiled, but now I just back up, line up and raise the 3pt to hook up. It really is that easy. It also sets the tone for the day.

You might also consider the space bar that comes as an option with Pats Quick attach. I simply mark the bar with my various attachment spreads. Makes it easier as you acquire and swap between attachments.
