ck 20 hst leak

Hey guys

I have a CK20 hst with 450 hrs

Hydraulic leak started this week
Leak is at a plug under the right side of tractor on the HST drive

I have tried tighten it with an 8mm allen wrench but have been unsuccessful
The fluid spits out when I move the foot lever to reverse .

I would like to tkae the plug out completly for inspection but I am not sure what is behind this little fella

Any advise please

The top plug is the nuetral relief valve, the bottom plug is the high pressure relief valve. There are o-rings under both of the plugs that form the seal. If your leak is at the top plug, there are 2 o-rings and a seal that you need to be careful with. The bottom plug has one o-ring. In both cases, there are the pressure releif springs immediately behind the plug. Be very careful that you do not loose any part of the pressure relief assembly, and that you re-insert all the parts exactly the way they came out. Make sure no dirt or anything else gets inside the pressure relief assembly.

If you are unsure you want to open the pressure relief valves, call your dealer.

Thak you very much

There are three plugs on the top as you look down from the seat . this plug is on the underside looking right.
Should I drain all the hydraulic fluid out or will I be safe just to open

i do need to disconnect the line from the filter as it passes by the access to this plug

The plugs on the top are the pressure test ports. The side plugs under the floor pan are the pressure relief valves.

You don't necessarily need to drain the entire tractor, but you will need a pan under the filter line and the relief ports, Never put drained fluid back in the tractor, and be sure that what you add to the tractor is the same brand fluid as what you have in it now.

More info, please? I was under the impression that it's OK to mix UTF of various kinds.

There should not be a problem mixing different brands of oil as long as they are the same type.
